United Visual Artists : Momentum, @ Barbican Curve Gallery. 13 February 2014 – 1 June 2014 UVA, (United Visual Artists)在Barbican环形画廊的装置作品 Momentum由12个悬挂在天花板上摇锤组成。这组结合了3D打印科技制成的摇锤,由疏至密的排列在180度的环形长廊之中。每一个摇锤都是光源和声源,在UVA编排的模式之下起舞。摇锤的底部是光晕所在,昏暗的羽白色光线在点状和环状之中切换。同时切换的还有不同的音效,光与声的协奏主导着整个画廊黑暗的环境。 而Barbican的环形画廊,正式艺术中心音乐厅的舞台后场。一墙之隔,便是音乐厅的主舞台。或许当台上的演奏家和歌者正站在一束高光下,我们在环形画廊中,也成为了UVA光线之下的表演者。 在这一次的环形画廊之中,前半部分发光摇锤的排列较为松散,给了观者初入空间,感知方向的时间。而后半部分,七束光线几近等距排列,适应了光影环境的观者们也停下脚步体验UVA所营造的氛围。光与声的节奏时而摇摆不定,时而步调统一,有的观众会如同小孩一般不断追寻光线,让自己站在亮处,或是拿出手机相机捕捉光源和人影。手机屏幕中发出的光线,成为了环境中了另一组光源。我们点亮手中的光,投影于这些摇锤,作品与观者似乎也互换了位置。 UVA通过这光线空间装置,强调营造一种‘自然’的感官体验。而光线装置强调这人与光现象感官的互动,从Antony McCall的描绘圆锥的光线,到Olafur Eliasson的天气项目之中巨大的人造太阳, 我们看到的不仅是作品本身,更是作品之下分享光源的观众。在环形画廊这个剧场式的空间里里,靠墙而坐的观者,注视着这些起舞的光线。罗兰巴特曾把黑暗的影院空间和心理医生诊室做比较。黑暗给予人幻想的空间和时间,我们在大银幕前舒服的坐下,正如同躺在心理医生诊室的沙发上,等待一束光线的催眠。
